Notes
Beet Prep Instructions:
This recipe is intended to be used with raw frozen beets. Simply wash, peel, and roughly chop the beets into smaller pieces. Then add the beets to a Smootheeze freezer tray along with a splash of water and freeze overnight to make 1/2 cup portions that are easy to pop into the blender.
You may find there is a slightly pulpy texture when using raw beets. If so, microwave or boil the beets first until very tender. Let cool and then add to your Smootheeze freezer tray.
Flavor Notes:
Beets pair well with mulling spices and can tolerate a large amount, as they bring out the sweetness of the beets. Feel free to double the spice amounts to enjoy an extra dose of fall flavors.
